Abstract

The purpose of the article is to describe characteristics of unusual interjections, to give their interpretation based on the use in manga, to determine their functional types. In the course of the study, we identified 6 functional types of interjections: emotional, onomatopoematic, verbal, cognitive, etiquette, mixed. As a result, it was found out that most of new interjections are onomatopoeic. The search for new interjections and their analysis allowed us to expand the existing study of interjections, to identify new functional types. This knowledge can be useful for compilation of a specialized dictionary of interjections.
